ARTEMISSZIÓ ALAPÍTVÁNY – Hungary | artemisszio.hu

Artemisszió was founded in 1998 as a charitable foundation based in Budapest, Hungary. We believe in an open, tolerant society, where disadvantaged people are given opportunities and interculturality is valued. We know that in this current globalised world, the understanding of deeply varied societies is a necessary skill. This is the way forward.

We work towards these goals in our home country and abroad as well. Artemisszio supports the social integration of socially and culturally disadvantaged groups through developing and conducting intercultural training courses, creating educational materials and methods, aiming to develop critical thinking and empowerment. Provides trainings for professionals in the social sector: social workers, teachers, health workers and youth workers. We often use artistic and creative methods to engage our public, like Forum Theatre, visual arts and creative city strolling, among others. We work more and more within participatory frameworks like participatory action research and co-creation activities.

Artemisszió’s intercultural community, “Mira” offers place for the encounter between third country nationals, including migrants, refugees and Hungarians interested in intercultural experiences. Mira House hosts a variety of programs, including Hungarian courses, mentoring events, programs that support the orientation in the country for newcomers and the feeling of community for all. We have strong connections with some secondary schools and university departments that we developed through our projects related to social sensitization and social inclusion.
